Lumineux delivered an intelligent lighting solution for Sparken Hill Academy in Worksop, working in partnership with BRS Electrical Limited.
The brief was to provide a flexible, energy-efficient solution capable of adapting to the day-to-day demands of a busy school environment while remaining simple for staff to operate.
Using the Lumineux truSmart system, the scheme was designed to respond dynamically to occupancy and available daylight. PIR sensing, daylight harvesting, grouping, and wireless switching were fully integrated, ensuring lighting is only used where and when required.
A range of Lumineux and truSmart luminaires was installed to suit different areas across the school. Sierra Linear fittings were used throughout classrooms and general teaching spaces, Snowdon and Blackburn LED panels for circulation areas, and Derwent high bays for larger open spaces. A self-test emergency lighting range was also incorporated to ensure compliance and long-term safety.
With varying light levels throughout the day, particularly in teaching environments, the system plays a key role in maintaining consistent illumination while reducing unnecessary energy consumption. Wireless switching and grouped control provide staff with simple, intuitive control across different zones when needed.
The result is a fully automated, energy-efficient lighting solution that supports both learning environments and operational efficiency.
This project reinforces Lumineux’s ability to deliver intelligent, adaptable lighting solutions, combining advanced controls with high-performance luminaires to meet the evolving needs of modern educational environments.
