Lumineux delivered a fully integrated smart lighting solution for the new Wolseley Distribution Centre in Darlington, built around the truSmart platform and delivered in partnership with Ian King Electrical.
The project focused on delivering a high-performance, energy-efficient solution capable of supporting the demands of a fast-paced logistics environment, while introducing intelligent controls to optimise performance across the facility.
The truSmart platform was configured to operate autonomously, adapting light levels in real time based on occupancy and available daylight. This ensures each area of the distribution centre is consistently lit to the required levels, supporting both operational efficiency and energy reduction.
Open warehouse areas were fitted with Meadley high-bay luminaires integrated with Plug & Play truSmart Zhaga PIR sensors. Through daylight harvesting and group control, the system automatically reduces output where possible without compromising performance across key working zones.
Across surrounding areas, a tailored mix of Lumineux luminaires was installed, including Holywell battens for general lighting and Darwell emergency bulkheads to ensure compliance and safety. Plug & Play emergency packs further streamlined installation while supporting long-term maintenance efficiency.
The result is a fully automated, intelligent lighting solution that enhances efficiency, simplifies operation, and delivers long-term energy savings.
This project reinforces Lumineux’s ability to deliver scalable, high-performance lighting solutions, combining advanced control systems with robust luminaires to meet the demands of modern industrial environments.
